Predictive Analytics Group Starts Annual Scholarship Program
Chief Operating Officer
Over 20 years ago, our roots started at UD.
Stephen R. Hoops and I, CEO and COO (respectively) of Predictive Analytics Group first met in a business class at the University of Delaware in 1997. We later realized that we worked together at the same company – MBNA. From that initial meeting a bond formed that lasted throughout the following decades. Both Hoops and I took multiple similar and different steps – both professionally and personally – but maintained our UD bond over time after both graduating in 1998.
Span forward to present day and we both created, own, and run a successful consulting company – Predictive Analytics Group. Throughout our careers, we both have always been involved in non-profit and philanthropic type work. We wanted to continue that mission in PAG.
Seeking ways to help the underserved youth aspire to their goals and contribute to the local community, PAG had a vision of working with UD students – who were in a similar dynamic as we were 20 years earlier – to be successful academically and professionally. As a result, Predictive Analytics Group got involved in multiple UD initiatives.
The Predictive Analytics Group Annual Scholarship was founded in 2017. The scholarship, which consists of $20,000, provides support for entrepreneurship and technology innovation students enrolled in the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware. Additionally, as Delaware alumni we continually give back to our alma mater by participating in the Graduate Internship Program, the Executive Mentors Scholars Program, and by serving as advisors for the Horn Program.
The Graduate Internship Program offers full-time graduate students in the Lerner College of Business and Economics an opportunity to apply the skills they learned in the classroom to the industry of their future career path. The Executive Mentors Scholars Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) is a program whose focus is to recruit, retain and graduate women in business and connect UD female sophomore students in the Lerner College of Business with an executive whose professional background relates to the student’s future career field.
Lastly, Steve Hoops and I serve as advisors for the Horn Program at the University of Delaware and are willing participants to provide guidance and share our business experiences in group discussions to UD students. The Horn Program centers around entrepreneurship and is committed to empowering students who think innovatively, and has been able to continue its success over the past five years thanks to the support of alumni.
Most recently PAG has entered into a long-term engagement with the University of Delaware through our new office space which will be located on Star Campus. Predictive Analytics Group is very excited about our relationship with the University of Delaware and looks forward to continually providing our support and expertise. Go Blue Hens !!!
